Flying in a fighter jet wasn’t on my childhood dream list — but the moment I stepped onto a tarmac and heard the roar of a jet engine up close, something clicked. Since then, I’ve chased every opportunity I could find to learn about fighter aviation, pilot requirements, and what it actually feels like to pull G-forces in the sky.
I’m Kayla Sox, and this space is where I take you with me.
My experience is hands-on:
I apply for programs, try out fitness standards, shadow pilots, interview maintainers, and yes — climb into real aircraft whenever the chance appears. I share the parts that were exciting, the parts that were humbling, and the parts that made me think, “People really do this for a living?”
Here’s what you can expect from me:
- Honest takes on fighter jet flights, pilot qualifications, and training paths
- Real comparisons between aircraft I’ve flown in or observed up close
- Breakdowns of what aspiring pilots should know
- Personal insights into aviation culture, preparation, and the unexpected moments no one talks about
This blog isn’t about pretending to be a pilot. It’s about experiencing aviation from the ground up — learning, trying, failing, testing, and documenting what it actually feels like to pursue the fighter-pilot world as an outsider determined to understand it.
If you love aircraft, speed, or simply stories about pushing yourself into unfamiliar territory, you’re in the right place.
