Douglas A2D Skyshark Attack Airplane

Video description:
The Douglas built A2D Skyshark was developed for the Navy in the year's shortly after WWII. It's based on their very successful AD attack airplane and used the Allison 5500HP T40 turbine engine and big dual rotation propellers. In development it demonstrated record breaking rate of climb and load carrying as well as high speed. Development problems and the emergence of jet propulsion put an end to the program after the first few production airplanes where delivered. This video is of an X-Plane model of the production A2D as it might have looked in Marine battle paint. Original model by Dan Roan. Revisions to production configuration and Marine paint scheme by Bob Aukerman. Video by Bob Aukerman.
