Vietnam War Combat Assault April 1971

Birds picked us up at FB Liz on Easter Sunday 1971. Huey, no doors. legs hanging out at 5,000'. Bad day, A Company got ambushed within our view after we landed, a bunch of birds went down with many KIA & WIA's. F4's and gunships were on station the rest of the day and night. NVA ambush using 51 cals. Chaplain coming in for Easter service was shot down and the camp was overrun. Lost a lot of good men that day. War sucks!

This was shot with camera in one hand and M16 in other. Kinda stupid, but then I was young and Born to Be Wild! Vietnam Combat War Movie, the real thing.
