Tomcats, Hornets, and Super Hornets - Sunday - Part 3

Sunday September 10, 2006: THE main feature of the 2006 NAS Oceana Airshow involves the fleet. This year, four F-14 Tomcats from VF-31 "Tomcatters" join four F/A-18F Super Hornets from VFA-11 "Red Rippers", two F/A-18C Hornets from VFA-34 "Blue Blasters", two F/A-18C Hornets from VFA-87 "Golden Warriors", and a single F/A-18F Super Hornet from VFA-106 "Gladiators" in a fleet flyby, a sneak pass, part of the Super Hornet demonstration, and an air power demonstration, culminating in bringing back all participating aircraft and having them taxi in front of the crowd. Since it was the Tomcats' "last airshow stand", they did something very touching. IN THIS VIDEO, the Gladiators from VFA-106 perform a minimum radius turn as well as part of the demo profile.
