After the initial test flight a new 2 position nose gear was designed to hold the plane at a positive angle attack for take off and a negative angle of attack for landing. With the gear in the landing position, this ensures the aircraft will not rebound due to the high angle of attack at landing. Due to the wheels in the wing-lets at the back of the aircraft, it must flown off the ground instead of a more conventional rotation, so the aircraft needs to sit nose high so it takes off on its own.
