ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE - As Bob Largent sees it, the Air Force is in the middle of what he calls a "perfect storm" - a clash of stark realities and unruly circumstances that will determine the future role of air power and most certainly affect the workload at Robins Air Force Base.
Largent, a Perry resident and national president of the Air Force Association, believes the situation is unprecedented in the almost 59-year history of the junior service.
"And we have to be prepared to be flexible, agile and responsive to what comes down the pike," he said. "It's not going to be easy."
Largent, who retired from the Air Force in 1992 as a colonel, was elected in September to a second term as president of AFA, an international organization of about 130,000 military, retired military and civilian supporters of the Air Force and air power.
