LibDems condemn BAE figures as 'fundamentally compromised'

The Herald reports UK Liberal Democrats condemn BAE Systems for releasing a profit announcement which 'reflects an utterly artificial position'.
The LibDems and Treasury spokesman Vince Cable had earlier been very critical of the government's decision to pull a fraud investigation into dealings between BAE System and the Saudi royal family.

Cable noted that BAE's profits depend on export contracts 'around which there are unresolved allegations of corrupt commission payouts and pending prosecutions'.
