South Korea was shocked this month when one of its newly minted F-15K fighter jets crashed and killed two pilots just months after the plane rolled off Boeing Co.'s St. Louis production line.

However, Boeing expects the crash of the reliable fighter to have little impact on its South Korean contract.

Boeing spokesman Chris Haddox said the company's F-15K production schedule has not been suspended or altered. Boeing still plans to deliver 14 planes to South Korea this year after four deliveries last year.

The F-15 line keeps more than 1,000 Boeing workers in St. Louis busy.

The plane, which crashed June 7, was among the first F-15Ks Boeing delivered to South Korea as part of a $4.3 billion deal kicked off amid much fanfare last year at Boeing's St. Louis-based defense headquarters.
