LONG BEACH — A regularly scheduled meeting this week between Boeing Co.
C-17 program managers and executives with dozens of firms that supply parts for the cargo plane has taken on critical significance as questions linger about the C-17's future.
Normally a twice-a-year session that gives suppliers and C-17 leaders an opportunity to look at reducing program costs and improving parts delivery, Wednesday's all-day meeting will now include a look at the program's cloudy future.
"The market outlook is always a key agenda item, but because of what you are reading now … it's a very important part of the agenda," said C-17 spokesman Rick Sanford.
