Eurofighter execs pitching hard to Turks
ANKARA, Turkey, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- The Eurofighter consortium, struggling to find customers, is offering Turkey co-production and technology transfers to sell its Typhoon fighter-jet.

So far, Eurofighter has gotten zero sales outside of its four-nation partnership of Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain. In June 2005, Greece rejected the Eurofighter in favor of the F-16 Block 52+ multi-role fighter.

Turkey plans to upgrade virtually its entire F-16 fleet and another 48 F-4Es. It already has paid $175 million to become a Level 3 partner in the F-35 program, led by Lockheed Martin, and is known to be interested in the U.S. Joint Strike Fighter.
