Sonic booms coming with F/A-22 flights

Periodically over the next few weeks area residents may hear something that sounds like a muffled bang with no apparent cause in sight.
Not to be alarmed - it's probably just one of this country's newest fighter aircraft passing overhead at supersonic speed.

The Air Force's new air dominance fighter, the F/A-22 "Raptor," will be conducting supersonic military acceptance test flights in a "corridor" starting from a point east of Hinch Mountain near Rockwood, and stretching southwest toward Fayetteville.

If the flight proceeds on a straight line, the aircraft should pass south of Manchester and between Tullahoma and Winchester.continue..
