Lockheed Awarded $123M for F-35 Lightning II Development

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Ft. Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $123,041,923 modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract (N00019-02-C-3002).
This modification provides for the development, integration, and installation of reprogramming and validation/verification capabilities at the United States Reprogramming Laboratory in support of the
F-35 Joint Strike Fighter System Development and Demonstration Program, including training.
This will provide a facility to develop and sustain operational and training mission data files, providing a capability to counter emergent and theater advanced electronic warfare and other sensor detected targets and threats for the F-35 Lightning II.
Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas, (68 percent), Eglin Air Force Base, Orlando, Fla., (24 percent), and El Segundo, Calif., (8 percent), and work is expected to be completed in Oct. 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
