Lockheed Awards Harris Corp. $30M Production Contract for F-22A
MELBOURNE, Florida, August 20, 2007 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has received a five-year, $30 million follow-on contract from Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) to supply high-speed, fiber-optic network components for Production Lots 7, 8 and 9 of the U.S. Air Force F-22A Raptor aircraft program.
The award brings the total value of the program for Harris — Lots 1 through 9, plus annual options for additional equipment and services — to more than $280 million since 1991.

The F-22A Raptor, which replaced the F-15, is the Air Force's newest fighter aircraft, combining stealth, speed and agility and representing an exponential leap in warfighting capabilities. In addition to the high-speed, fiber optic components, Harris provides the fiber-optic lab test equipment for the program, as well as the aircraft's Data Acquisition Unit (DAU).

"The F-22 Raptor represents the future of air combat dominance, and Harris is pleased to supply its advanced fiber-optic network technology for this nationally important program," said Sheldon Fox, president of Department of Defense Programs, Harris Defense Communications and Electronics. "This is another example of our ongoing commitment to provide the most innovative technology to the warfighter."

In addition to production work for the F-22A Raptor, Harris is developing advanced avionics for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, including image processing and digital map software, multifunction data links, fiber-optic network interfaces, and avionics infrastructure elements such as integrated avionics racks, power supplies and module components. The F-35 will replace the A-10, the AV-8 Harrier, the F-16 and the F/A-18.
