Mumbai: US aerospace giant Boeing Co has remained the only company to bid for a $2.5-billion contract to supply South Korea with 20 jet fighters by 2012 as the deadline for bidding ended on April 18, South Korea's defence procurement agency said.
Boeing will probably also be the sole contractor for the second phase of Korea's F-X fighter jet procurement project.
South Korea will purchase 20
F-15K fighter jets in the second phase of the defence project between 2010 and 2012.
Originally three bidders were expected to compete to win the contract: US defence manufacturer Lockheed Martin, European consortium Eurofighter International and Boeing.
