Boeing Adds Delta TechOps to KC-767 Advanced Tanker Team
ST. LOUIS, April 17, 2007 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has selected Delta TechOps, a division of Delta Air Lines, to provide parts support for the KC-767 Advanced Tanker. As a result, Delta TechOps becomes eligible to supply interim contractor support for commercial aircraft parts if Boeing is awarded the U.S. Air Force KC-X Tanker contract later this year.

"Delta TechOps is a valuable addition to our tanker supplier team," said Ron Marcotte, vice president and general manager of Boeing Global Mobility Systems. "This solid teammate has a tremendous amount of experience in supporting commercial and commercial derivative platforms."

Boeing's selection of Delta TechOps followed a best-value source selection focused on management, price, technical factors and past performance. Delta TechOps also leveraged its in-depth experience with the 767 fleet and a robust inventory of 767 parts to gain selection. They also may provide engineering, field team support, inventory exchange and component repair.

"We know the 767 fleet very well and will help Boeing's Global Tanker team by applying our experience in fleet management support," said Tony Charaf, Delta's senior vice president of Technical Operations. "The team they have assembled is world class and Delta's expertise and people are the right fit for this effort."

In addition to Delta TechOps, the Global Tanker Team producing the KC-767 Advanced Tanker includes Smiths Aerospace, Rockwell Collins, Vought Aircraft Industries, Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney and Spirit AeroSystems.

Boeing has produced nearly 2,000 tankers in its history and currently is building four KC-767 tankers each for Italy and Japan.
