Washington DC - Once there were intel aircraft and sensors and other ISR assets clustered in 'stovepipes' that had to be cherry picked and pulled together and integrated manually into an air tasking order.
This took time, and added an in-built latency that destroyed the point of new adaptable systems like UAVs. If unchecked, it would lead to such 'new' power being rendered useless, unable to advance to the grail of instant 'sensor to shooter' response.
'We didn't do well against fixed targets in Desert Storm, and we haven't got much better at it in the days of OIF,' observed Gerry Perryman, one of Raytheon's top officials in the field.
'The trick is in the ability to share and integrate what you've gathered, and we think this can do it.'
