German Government Decision On EADS Strategy Shortly - Official

BERLIN -(Dow Jones)- The German government aims to presentits strategy for the country's interests in European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. (5730.FR), or EADS,within the next few days, a spokesman said Monday.

The chancellery and state secretaries from the finance, economics and defense ministrieswill meet to discuss the government's aim of maintaining a balance between German and French influence in EADS, though no details were given.

"We are currently considering several ideas and the goal of all these is that we maintain the strategic interest of Germany in EADS and pursue a parity between the German and French stakes. No decision has been made yet," government spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm told reporters.
