National Security Space Programs Seen Making Progress In Tackling Woes
Three major U.S. national security space programs that have been plagued recently by ethical or technical woes are making progress in solving their problems, but challenges remain, a Pentagon official and a government-chartered task force said Aug. 24.

Air Force sanctions that prevent the Boeing Co. from competing for Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) contracts could be lifted soon, said Peter Teets, undersecretary of the Air Force and director of the National Reconnaissance Office. Teets said during a media roundtable that Boeing is doing a "good job" in resolving the ethical concerns that sparked the sanctions, though he added that the Air Force must finish its "due diligence" before ending the restrictions.
