US Army Awards EADS $3 Billion Helicopter Contract

PARIS -(Dow Jones)- The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co.(5730.FR) said Saturday it has won a $3 billion contract from the U.S. Army to supply 352 light utility helicopters.

The deal marks the first time EADS's North American subsidiary has been chosen as a prime contractor for the U.S. military.

The production of the EADS helicopter - called the UH-145 - will be set up in the U.S.
