Pentagon Awards Initial JSF Engine Order
United Technologies Corp., Pratt & Whitney, Military Engines, East Hartford, Conn., is being awarded a $120,000,000 ceiling-priced cost-plus-incentive-fee, award-fee contract for the low rate initial product lot 1 procurement of five F-135 propulsion systems for the Air Force Joint Strike Fighter F-35A Conventional Take-Off and Landing Aircraft.

In addition, this contract provides for the procurement of associated initial spare engine and spare parts, support equipment, sustainment support, special tooling/special test equipment and technical/financial data.

Work will be performed in East Hartford, Conn., and is expected to be completed in January 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured.

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity (N00019-06-C-0292).
