F-15C roadmap explores use of digital radar

The Air Force can't get from today to tomorrow without a mobility bag full of roadmaps.
And it needs those roadmaps - the shorthand term for long-range studies - to determine when and what upgrades are needed for a variety of fighters.
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. T. Michael Moseley said the service has started roadmaps to upgrade fighter aircraft radar and F-15C Eagles.
The service had earlier decided it needed 196 F-15Cs to compliment the F-22A Raptor.
With Raptor squadrons now in the air, the time has come to look at how to keep nearly 200 Eagles combat ready.
Moseley said the F-15C roadmap will look at service life extensions for the fighters as wells as avionics upgrades.
The Air Force also needs to mount similar studies for its F-15E Strike Eagles, Moseley said.
