EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska - Four U.S. Air Force Thunderbird F-16 performance aircraft fly together in formation in the skies behind the latest Air Force fighter aircraft the F-22A Raptor for more than 6,000 spectators during the Eielson Air Force Base Alaska "Soaring into Soltice" Thunderbirds show on June 24. The "Soaring into Soltice" airshow provided an opportunity for the local community to visit and get an up close view and demostration of the capabilities of the Air Force's aircraft. The F-22A Raptor is from the 90th Fighter Squadron, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska.

Paul "Max" Moga, the first F-22A Raptor Demonstration Team pilot, leads 10 Langley Airmen in the re-enlistment oath during a ceremony here at AirPower over Hampton Roads June 22. With the re-enlistment, the Airmen volunteered to serve another four or six years in the Air Force.

June 2008 - Two Royal Air Force Eurofighter Typhoons from XI Sqn during a deployment to Nevada, United States, as part of Exercise Green Flag. The aircraft in the foreground is loaded with two Enhanced Paveway II laser-guided bombs and one 1,000L droptank, while the other is carrying six Enhanced Paveway II laser-guided bombs and the Litening III laser designator pod. Both jets are fitted with a real-time range pod.

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo., - Col. Gregory Champagne, 131st Fighter Wing vice commander, and Maj. David Thompson, 131st FW, achieved a major milestone in their transition to the B-2 mission by completing the first B-2 sortie flown, in the Spirit of Arizona, and launched by Missouri Air National Guard personnel June 18. The 131st BW, currently in transition from the 131st Fighter Wing, is a classic associate unit with the 509th Bomb Wing and the first Air National Guard unit to take part in the B-2 mission.

Langley’s open house is an annual event that helps educate the public, increase recruiting and show appreciation to the local community. “It's a chance to get people informed, involved and excited,” said Lt.
